May 1st officially is the beginning of Summertime for Cyprus which goes right through until October - The locals always celebrate May Day on the actual day not like us, the nearest Monday. Now they can look forward to long days filled with hours of sunshine and wonderful balmy evenings. The skies are so clear that the millions of stars seem so much nearer and it is quite common to see a shooting star! You can sit outside for hours, enjoy a good glass of wine, soak up the fragrance of Jasmin and just relax.
